May 26, 2006
The tutorial for Horizons will teach you the basics of movement and other basic game play features. Spending some extra time in this tutorial world familiarizing yourself with the various game menus and customizing the game to your own computer’s needs will make playing the game once you enter Istaria much faster and easier, however. You’ll also choose your first school in the tutorial and have an opportunity to gain a few levels in that school to see how that school plays. There is a tradeskill tutorial here that explains the basics of how to create an item and lets you pick your first tradeskill. If you’ve never played Horizons before and aren’t certain which school and tradeskill you want to start out as, you can take the time to try out a few different ones and get a feel for them before leaving the tutorial island. The answer to “What sort of character are you?” is far from an easy one even for those familiar with Horizons.
